Learn more about the Cockapoo.

Meet Hope, a sweet 2-year-old Cockapoo who weighs about 20 pounds. Hope was surrendered by a breeder and came to us a little scared and without a name—so we happily named her Hope, and it suits her perfectly!

From the moment she stepped into her foster home, you could see the change in her by her wagging tail and and sweet attitude. She is finally learning what it means to be a real dog! When she first arrived, she was quite matted and needed a good shave, but now she’s looking fabulous and feeling great! Just a heads up, she will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best.

Hope is learning all about being a dog - she has come so far in her foster home!  She is now a happy, playful dog!  She loves attention and affection.  Toys are a must - she plays with them all the time and even likes to play ball.  She hasn't quite mastered fetch though.  She loves to be outside, especially in good weather.  She isn't fond of rain but will go outside when needed.

As a breeder release, she can become a little nervous around new situations and people. She might take a step back at first, but then she’ll lie down and show you she’s ready to be touched. Hope is a total sweetheart when it comes to treats! She gets super excited for them, though she’s still learning to take them from your hand. If you set one down for her, though, she’ll happily gobble it up! She would do best with older kids as that is what she is used to.  Loud and active households might be a little too much for her.  She is a sweet dog and has never been mean or aggressive in her foster home or at events.

Hope is doing well with her house training! She can hold it for about 4 to 6 hours and has her own special signals to let you know when she needs to go outside. You’ll see her spin and circle. She can even use potty pads while she’s still getting the hang of things. Just remember, she’ll need a little time to adjust to her new home.

In her foster home, Hope likes to be in the same room as her foster mom and often spends her time napping nearby. She gets along well with both cats and dogs, and she’s not much of a barker. She doesn't chew on or destroy things. Although she’s crate-trained, she prefers to relax in the kitchen while you’re away.

Hope is a dog who was rescued from a breeding facility, similar to those used by puppy mills. She is not leash trained and has no experience with leashes and right now they scare her.We find if you approach Hope, pick her up and then attach a leash, it is much easier for her.  Her new home must have a fully fenced yard (please no invisible fences)

If you think you might be the perfect match for Hope, please don’t hesitate to apply today. You won’t be disappointed!

Hope is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and has tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450

We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security.
