Learn more about the Pug. Learn more about the Shiba Inu. Princess is ready. She is ready to find her forever home! Princess has been with us for 9 months with little to no interest. We know, now is her time; she is ready! Princess is a little over 1 year old breeder release. We believe she is part of an “accidental” litter. She is a Boston, pug, and Shiba Inu mix. A very unique mix for sure. Princess is a great size and weighs only 22 pounds and is full-grown at this point.
Princess is house broken and crate. Although she is no longer crated when her foster family is away for the day. She prefers to be gated off in the kitchen or bedroom. She gets along great with other dogs or any size. Although she seems to like those her size and smaller the best. Simply because that is who she has been exposed to the most. She loves to play, wrestle and run with the other dogs in her foster home. She has learned so much from the other dogs in the home. Dogs help her build confidence. If another dog goes up to a person, Princess will as well. If another dog takes a treat, Princess will as well. If the other dog sleeps in your bed, Princess will as well. Princess is shy and reserved when it comes to new people. She tends to sit back and watch them to see what they will do. It takes her about a week to adjust to new people. She will need another dog to show her the ropes in her new home. Once she feels comfortable, Princess’s true personality will start to shine. Her favorite part of the day is early morning when you first wake up. Princess will paw and playfully bite at your hand. She will lick you hands and face u til you want to push her away, but then you will remember, that this once very shy skittish dog has learned to trust and love you. So you just can’t be upset with the affection she shows. Princess also gets along fine with cats.
Princess is working on her leash training. She will walk well on a leash when she trusts you. She wont be a walker on day one. It will take a few weeks or months even for her to be ready to walk with a new person on a leash. When that time comes, she absolutely must be walked on a martingale collar. This is a slip proof collar, so if she gets spooked by something, Princess cannot get loose from you. If she gets away, Princess will not come back to you. At this time a fully fenced yard is required. Princess is scared of loud noises, even something as simple as motorcycle driving down the road will scare her. New sounds such as neighbors talking, or people yelling make her nervous. She is not aggressive in any way, she will simply retreat to her crate or another room when she in uncomfortable. A home with older children (13+) would probably be best for her. If you have smaller kids who come to visit, no worries, Princess will be happy to relax in the other room while they are there. She may come out and visit when she is ready esp if the other dog in the home likes the kids. She tends to take their lead. A confident dog will help Princess.
Princess is not a barker. In fact the only time she barks is when you first come home. She is so excited to see you, she can’t help it. And brace yourself for the jumps and kisses that follow the barking. Once Princess loves you, she loves hard! You will be required to have lots of toys in your home as well. She likes to get the squeakers out of all the toys, but also loves the way the kongs bounce when she throws them in the air. And balls, man those are fun to push all around.
If you think she is a match for you, make sure you apply today. Princess is a true princess and a wonderfully fun dog. We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security. Princess is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450
