Who doesn’t love a sassy tiny girl? That’s exactly what our little Andi is, full of spunk and sass. She is dainty like a little ballerina and spins with excitement every time she sees her family. Andi was a local stray found in Buffalo. She was picked up by our friends at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. Poor little girl was terrified there so they reached out to us to see if we could help. One peek at Andi in her shelter kennel and we had to help her. Many little dogs are fearful in the shelter and that was just her situation.  Andi is around 1 year old and weighs just under 5 pounds.

Shortly after Andi was in her foster home, her true personality started to come out. She is full of energy and bonds quickly with her family. She is a typical velcro chihuahua. There is never space between her and her foster family. Every little step they take, Andi is right behind you. If someone is on the couch, Andi is perched on the lap. At bedtime, Andi is often found sleeping on her mama's shoulder, back, or chest. Andi enjoys running, playing, and barking with the other dogs in her foster home. She would love to have a confident friend to play with in her forever home, although not required. And walks, oh those walks, what a great time Andi has smelling everything the springtime air has to offer. When it comes to house training, Andi is still working on it. Now that the weather is getting nicer, Andi is more willing to go outside to potty. The good news is that Andi will use a potty pad in the cold, rainy weather.

Andi is nervous when new people come into her home. She prefers that strangers let her approach them versus them reaching for her. Her initial instinct is to run from strangers when they reach for her. Andi does have a bite history. When she was found by animal control, she did bite the officer in fear. For this reason, she will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 15. We have also found that she does not like it when people rough house and play hit. She gets very upset and barks repeatedly until you stop. But she does not care if someone hugs another person or approaches when she is sleeping on someone’s lap. Due to her barking, apartment life is not for her. Andi barks when she hears people come in, when she is playing, and when she wants to eat. But then again she is tiny and wants to make sure you know she’s around. Andi just wants all the attention and love you can give her.

If you think this lively little girl can spin and dance her way into your heart, make sure you apply today. She may be small but she has a lot of love to give.

Andi is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
