Learn more about the Bichon Frise.

Mr. Rafferty or Raffi as his foster mom likes to call him is available for adoption!  Raffi was found wandering the City of Buffalo and taken to the shelter.   Raffi is about 2-3 years old and we believe he is a Bichon Poo.

Raffi was a matted mess when he got to the shelter and had to be shaved down.  He was not happy with it probably because being matted hurts!  We don't know why Raffi was never claimed at the shelter but we can tell you has been a lovely addition to his foster home!  He absolutely loves to be outside and it takes his foster mom several tries to get him to come back in!  We think he may be a flight risk if he ever got out because he thinks it's a game when he is called and will just run in the yard.  Even a leash and promise of a walk or car ride doesn't work on this little mischief maker.  Most of the time, he just wants to play.  Whether it be with another dog or by himself, he loves to play!  His favorite toys are balls  - we are trying to teach him to fetch but he doesn't want to give them up.  So he just bats it around with his paws or runs around with it in his mouth. Raffi likes to spend his days near his foster mom's feet so if she gets up, he will know.  Raffi knows a couple of basic commands like sit and down (not come lol!).  He loves to get his belly rubbed and loves any attention he can get.  Raffi is smart and treat motivated.  He is friendly and fun with lots of love to share with a family or a person that needs a new friend.

Raffi is crate trained but will let you know he is not thrilled about it.  He does settle down but he doesn't want to be in there for hours and hours.  He likes to be with his people and his dog friends!  He walks nicely on a leash too.  His housetraining needs some work.  He does well going outside and knows what he is supposed to do out there.  But we have seen him use the potty pads in his foster home too (he is a squatter).  He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and would really love one in his new home - he loves being outside!  Raffi is good with other dogs but if there is a tussle, he will stick up for himself.  He does show some interest in the cats in his house but we think he is just curious.  He has not been tested with kids under the age of 12 but we do not think there will be any issues.   Raffi requires regular grooming throughout his life so please keep that in mind if you are interested in adopting him.

Rafferty is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450
