Punkin is a one year old chihuahua dachshund mix  “A Chiweenie” . She came to us from Texas as an owner surrender. Punkin is a shy little girl and true to her breed takes a little time to warm up to new people.  Once she trusts you she she will love you forever.  She loves to be near her people and enjoys draping herself over your lap. Once she is comfortable in her new home she is a confident young lady. You really couldn’t ask for a more loving companion. She loves to burrow under the bed covers and will sleep comfortably all night.  Punkin lights up when it’s time to play outside or go for walks. She enjoys car rides and also loves exploring new places as long as she is with you. Punkin has the best facial expressions and she brings joy to those around her.  Punkin is crate trained and walks well on a leash.

When surrendered her family stated she has been known to nip.  She has not shown that behavior in her foster home but due to her history we are requesting that she is not placed with children under 12. Punkin has also been resource guarding her toys and people from other dogs In the home.  It is not all the time but it is enough to know that she would prefer to be either an only dog or with a senior dog who would not be any threat to her prized possessions. Punkin also has a strong prey drive so she would not do well in a home with birds, rabbits or other small animals. 

Although Punkin is not a perfect dog she has been so loving to her foster family and we are very excited for her to be able to bring her new family as much happiness and joy as she has brought them.  If you have a warm bed with lots of love and blankets for her to snuggle in she will be the happiest girl in the world.

Punkin is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $350
