Are you looking for an easygoing dog?  A quiet companion? A dog that is low on energy but big on love?  Well.... we found him!  Meet Buddy!  Buddy is an 8 year old, extremely handsome chihuahua mix who is approximately 12 pounds.  We do not know why he was surrendered but we do know that someone loved this dog!  Buddy came in to his foster home very happy, confident and made himself right at home.  He figured Out the doggy door in about 5 minutes, found a bed to call his own and curled up and went to sleep (it was a long day).  Nothing has changed since that first day.  Buddy has been a pleasure to foster!  He is affectionate when you want him to be but is just as happy to be alone if you have things to do. He loves food and seems accustomed to getting lots of snacks.  You won’t see Buddy for hours but If you open up a cheese wrapper or start messing around in the kitchen he will appear out of nowhere!  He has been here for weeks and I’ve never heard him bark so an apartment would work just fine for him.  He lives with other dogs and doesn’t really care about them as long as they stay out of his face.  He is past the point of wrestling and play and just wants to be left alone.  He has not been around cats but we don’t think they will be an issue.  He would be okay with older kids who would respect his space especially when he is sleeping.  Buddy has never once went to the bathroom in his foster home but please expect accidents with a new routine. Buddy will go in a crate but he does not like it and doesn’t really need it. Buddy has shown no aggression but when he is in his crate he will growl if you reach in to get him out.  When left alone he sleeps in a bed or on the couch all wrapped up in a blanket.   Buddy LOVES his blankets.  I mean LOVES.  He has them everywhere and uses them all!  He is so good at burying himself under the covers you don’t even know he is there.  Buddy sleeps in bed with his foster family and is very respectful of their space. He sleeps at the end of the bed with his own blanket and doesn’t make a peep all night.  He is leash trained and enjoys walks around the block.  He rides very well in the car especially if he’s getting something from the magic window- it doesn’t matter which one LOL.  He will make someone a great companion.

Buddy was positive for heart worm and has received treatment.  He will need to be on monthly preventative for the rest of his life.  The vet says he is in otherwise good health.  If you think this handsome man is a match for you please apply.  He will be totally worth it!

Buddy is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated.  His adoption fee is $350
