Dulce de Leche is Spanish and translates to “candy made of milk”.  This is a perfect description of our little girl.  She has a loving disposition and a sweet personality.  Dulce is a 3-month-old Chihuahua mix.  Her mom is a Chiweenie, so there is some doxie in her as well.  Her dad was a mystery lover who disappeared into the night before we rescued her mom as a pregnant stray. 

Dulce is a gorgeous caramel brown, with sleek, very soft fur.  She has soulful dark eyes and you will find yourself lost in her gaze.  She is the leader of her litter, even though she is the middle child.  She was the first one to climb the ramp on to the couch to sit with the bigger dogs.  She is the first one to the food bowl every morning.  She was the first one to go outside – briefly in this cold – and decided she wanted back in the warm house straight away.  She is using potty pads at her foster mom’s house and has about an 85% success rate.  Given her young age and small size, this is pretty impressive! Most times she is on the pad.  Sometimes she is next to the pad, so she misses a little bit.  Sometimes she pees right inside the back door when the big dogs go outside to potty.  She has the outside potty concept, but she is still learning.  Progress – not perfection!  She will need some additional potty training once she finds her forever home.  Please expect an accident or two as she transitions to a new place and a new schedule.

Dulce is an adventuresome girl, a spirited baby, a fun-loving gal with a sparkling personality.  She knows her own mind and is not shy to tell you her opinions.  She always wants to sleep on the pillows in the big bed – not at the foot, not under the covers.  She wants to be right up there at the top, where she feels she belongs.  She gets along great with the other dogs in the house, always ready to romp and play and just as easily ready to curl up and nap.  She was tested with children and enjoyed being held and cuddled and fetching soft squeaky toys for them.  She has not been tested with cats.

If you are looking for a cuddle puppy, Dulce is your girl.  She is smart as a whip and loves to be around people.  She will be a great family dog for the family who chooses to give her a forever home    

Dulce is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped and dewormed.  Her adoption fee is $400
