Oh Benny Boo! How we do love you! Benny is a young little guy with a sad start to life. He was found as a stray in Texas covered with fleas, with multiple ticks, skin issues, and heartworm positive. He also had a BB lodged under his skin that has to be surgically removed. Benny was terrified in the shelter and it was clear he needed to be saved. Benny has since undergone his heartworm treatment and is ready for adoption. 

Benny Boo is a very shy and reserved guy. He does not trust easily. He needs a home that understands the needs of a fearful dog and will give him time to warm up and realize you are not a threat. Benny is not aggressive. When he came into rescue, he was shut down and afraid. Initially, he would not approach his foster family and would run away if they walked towards him. In his foster home, he has learned that “couch time“ means cuddles, love, and playtime.  He is a little toy thief! It’s been a joy watching Benny blossom! When he plays, with the other dogs, he leaps in the air, and all four paws come off the ground, and he bunny hops it the air. He loves to play with the other dogs and share their beds. When Benny approaches his foster mama, he peaks at her legs for attention. Benny is completely crate trained and is working on his house training. He’s actually doing very well. He enjoys running in the backyard and going for walks. Due to Benny’s nervousness, he does require a home with a confident dog. One he can learn from and play with. A fenced-in yard for him to run and play in is also preferred. Benny has lots of love to give and promises to give you lots of kisses, once he knows you aren’t going to harm him.
