Meet Ginger Lee!

Ginger is a 2-year-old shih tzu who came from Texas from a puppy mill type situation. She made the long journey to New York from Texas in the hopes of finding out what the good life is like!
Poor Ginger has experienced a few bumps along the road. She has some eye issues that were checked out by the vet. While it won’t get better, it does not take away from her quality of life.
Shortly after becoming a Pixie, Ginger had an accident with another larger foster dog. Ginger had some Dentigerous cysts in gums that weakened her jaw bone and when she got knocked in the face, her jaw and tooth broke which required her to have two jaw surgeries. Ginger just got the “okay” from the vet that she is ready to find her forever home. While she can’t chew on bones, which she is itching to do, she can play with soft toys, which she absolutely loves. Because of this accident, she is very timid around large dogs, but absolutely thrives with her shih tzu foster brother!
Ginger is a very happy, but very shy girl. Before becoming a Pixie, she never lived in a home, so we are still learning some of the basics. She is not housebroken, but we are trying. Ginger wears a diaper in the house, which she doesn’t mind. She is nervous when being picked up, but she will allow it. She is a bit fearful of men, especially when there are loud or sudden movements. When her foster dad is sitting on the couch, she will go up to him for some loving. Ginger has never been on a leash to our knowledge so that will have to be slowly introduced.
Ginger will require a family or person that has A LOT of patience and A LOT of love to give. Once you earn her trust, you become her whole world. The extra work Ginger takes is well worth the reward! If you think Ginger would be a fit for your home, please apply! We feel as though Ginger would do best in a home with no kids, and small dogs only. A fenced yard would be preferred.
Ginger is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $350
