West Highland White Terrier Westie / Mixed (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Small
Learn more about the West Highland White Terrier Westie. Here he is, Skippy Dippy Do is all ready for adoption. This little guy was surrendered to a local shelter, after he was rescued from an abusive situation. As the case with many small dogs, the shelter is a scary place and knowing some of his history, the shelter staff knew it was not the place for him. So, we of course, had to help him out. Once he was settled into his foster home, we were able to see Skippy's true personality. Skippy is loving and playful. He wants as much love as you can possibly give him, and in return he is full of kisses and gives great hugs. Skippy is great with other dogs, and learns quickly from them. We do think he would do best in a home with another young dog to play with. Although he is working on leash training, due to his fear of the leash, a fenced yard is a must for this guy. Skippy is crate trained but still working on his housebreaking. He is doing pretty well but still needs some help. Skippy is fearful of new people, so if you are considering him, please know that you will need to go slow and give him time to adjust; it will take a day or so. Skippy just needs to know that he is safe before his true personality shows. Skippy is good in the car and enjoys being outside. In fact he enjoys being wherever you are! He has been around kids, but due to his fear/trust issues we are suggesting a home with older children, over 12. Skippy will be a wonderful companion for the right family. If you have the time and patience to devote to him, please consider applying, you won't be sorry. Skippy is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm and recently groomed. His adoption fee is $350, please apply on our website if you are interested!
