Contact Bella's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Foster

“Ciao Bella Choccolatte Bambini!” – which means “Hello, Beautiful Chocolate Baby Girl” in Italian.

Bella is a gorgeous 2 year old Chihuahua mix.  Her fur is a thick, rich cocoa color – from the tips of her ears, to her deep, soulful eyes & beautiful button nose.  All except for a bolt of white lightning down her chest & the perfect white French manicure-tipped toes on each little paw.

Bella was abandoned by her Texas family – but not before someone put in a lot of time & effort with her.  Bella is doing well on her potty training.  She is still learning the crate  and walks on a leash like a dream.  She uses potty pads in the house if she needs to when her foster mom is at work.  She will certainly let you know if someone if coming toward your house – but is well-behaved & will settle right down for a snuggle once your company has entered the home. Bella would do best with more submissive dogs as she is the queen bee in her mind.  But all in all she is very sweet!

Bella is a little fighter and came through the difficult hw treatment with flying colors.  Bella will require a heartworm preventative for the rest of her life.  The American Animal Hospital Association places the average cost of preventative for dogs at $5-15 per month, depending upon the choice of medicine.  The heartworm treatment Bella recently endured cannot be repeated for her again.  If she were to be bit by another mosquito carrying the heartworm parasite, there is no additional treatment available and she would die.  Heartworm prevention is a non-negotiable requirement for the family that chooses to adopt Bella.

Please note – heartworm can only be transmitted via mosquito bites.  It is perfectly safe for other dogs in the home to have a HW+ animal present.  Bella received her treatment with 3 other Chihuahuas in residence.  Everyone in the home is healthy, with shared water dishes, shared potty pads, and sharing momma’s bed each night.

Bella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and successfully completed heartworm treatment.  Her adoption fee is $350 - please apply online if you are interested.
