Learn more about the Dachshund.

Vita, Vita Vita!! What an adorable Dog! She is a 7 yr old dachshund who came to us from a Texas. She was found as a stray and placed in a TX shelter and because her owner did not come forward, we brought her to Buffalo to find her forever home! Buffalo LOVES their doxies!

Despite Vita's TX roots- she has no problem going out in the snow & cold to "do her business" while wearing her warm, cozy fleece. Vita is mostly house trained, and has adjusted extremely well to the schedule of her foster siblings. Please expect accidents as she adjusts to her new home and routine. Vita gets along well with the two other senior dogs in her foster home. Due to her low-key personality we do not recommend a home with a puppy or a high-energy dog. A fenced yard is preferred. Vita has not lived with cats. Older children would be fine as long as they know to respect Vita's boundaries (she does not like to be touched on her face).

If you are looking for a snuggly little lap dog, Vita is your girl! She really is quite the little couch potato and will keep your lap warm as soon as you sit down! She would love nothing more than to sleep and snuggle with you in your bed at night, and she easily goes into her crate while her you are at work. Vita is a quiet, lovable low-key gal who is looking for "le dolce vita" (the sweet life) in her retirement years.

Vita is spayed and UTD on vaccines. She recently had a dental and has tested negative for heartworm, she is microchipped, flea/worm treated. Her adoption fee is $325 to help offset her vet care and trip to Buffalo!
If Vita sounds like the perfect girl for you, please apply at on our website!
