Learn more about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Meet Quincy- he is a 10 year old cavalier that has spent his life in a cage.  He was used for breeding and when they were done with him they brought him to the vet to be euthanized!!!  Can you imagine euthanizing this beautiful boy so full of life just because he could no longer make you money????  Well neither can we!  So he became a pixie.  So far he has made the transition from cage to home pretty well.  He really enjoys the company of other dogs, especially ones his size and we would prefer that for his new home.  He is not housebroken but Is doing very well with patience and a consistent routine.  Adopting a mill dog who knows nothing other then a cage for 10 years of his life can be a challenge to housebreak but it is possible.   It will be like housebreaking a new puppy so please be willing to put the time and effort into Quincy before you apply.   He is however crate trained and does not have any accidents overnight.  He will cry and bark at first but settles down nicely and sleeps all night. Quincy can be a little shy of strangers and A little scared to be picked up but once in your arms he just melts in true cavie fashion.  This will improve the more he is around loving people.  Quincy has no teeth and he does just fine with dry and soft food mixed together and actually has quite the appetite for a little guy.  He has never walked on a leash and with him being brand new to rescue and our  Buffalo weather that will be a job for spring so a fenced in yard would be ideal.  Cavaliers are loving dogs and people pleasers.  Because of that they are usually a fit for most any home.  Although Quincy has a clean bill of health at this time the breed is prone to some very expensive health problems later in life so please, if you are not familiar with the breed do your research before you apply.  If you think you can give this little love bug a wonderful home full of love please apply.
Quincy is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm and dewormed.  His adoption fee is $250 - please apply online.
