Meet Mikey! Mikey is a 4 year old poodle mix that found himself needing rescue when his owners moved away. See they left Mikey behind in the apartment for 3 months! They stopped over one day a week to feed him. Finally the landlord convinced his tenant to surrender Mikey. Now you think that having little human interaction would cause Mikey to distrust people, but in fact it's the complete opposite. Mikey loves people and is eager to please. He is an energetic dog that does need some training to learn manners. He can't help himself when you come home, Mikey is so excited he jumps all over you. He wants to play and go for walks. Since being in his foster home, he has mastered sit and is working on "off" when he jumps up. He's doing very well with it too! He's a fast learner and catches on quickly. We did have to take Mikey in to be groomed. Due how severely matted he was, Mikey had to be shaved down, but his lovely locks will grow back in.

Mikey is a velcro dog. He wants to to be everywhere he can with you. He is housebroken, and working on the crate training. We were told that he does have slight food aggression. We haven't witnessed it, but for safety purposes, don't put your hand in his food bowl when he is eating. We think that it may have been a result of only eating one day a week. Mickey loves to play with other dogs. He does come on a little strong at first when it comes to other dogs, but he's so excited to play! Mikey would do best in a home with kids at least 8 years old and a fenced in yard. If you think Mikey is great for your family, make sure to apply!
