Meet Oliver.  Oliver is a 2 year old lab mix that was sitting in a shelter in Texas.  As soon as a foster home could take him, we made sure we got him to NY!  Just look at that face - how could you not fall in love!

Oliver is the sweetest, most loving, well behaved dog you will ever meet.  He is gentle and knows his basic commands. Oliver gives the best hugs ever by literally wrapping his paws around you so gently and just soaking up any love you will give him.   He walks well on a leash after the initial excitement.  Oliver is very playful and loves everyone he meets.  He gets along well with dogs and people of all sizes and would make a wonderful loving pet in almost any home.  He loves to run and would benefit from a large fenced in yard or an active family.  Oliver had no chance of being adopted in Texas because he has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which was caused from having distemper as a puppy.  His case appears to be pretty mild and he only suffers from a few of the symptoms.  His head shape is a little odd, he makes a strange sucking noise when hes happy or excited and he walks and stands with a wide stance.  This does not effect his quality of life however and in fact makes him that much cuter.  Oliver is able to run like the wind and play like a normal 2 year old dog.  One thing we found out about Oliver is he is able to climb fences (even a 6 foot privacy fence) so he will never ever be able to be left in the yard unsupervised – not for a second but that is no problem because he comes right away when called and prefers to be wherever you are anyways. Oliver desperately needs a dental which is scheduled for 10/5/2017 and he will be available for adoption once that’s complete.  He has not had any accidents in his foster home but please don’t expect perfection with all the changes these poor dogs have had to endure.

Oliver is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm, flea/worm treated.  His adoption fee is $350.  If you think you would be able to give Oliver a loving home please apply you won’t be sorry.
