Shih Tzu (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Learn more about the Shih Tzu. After a long life of breeding for profit , Snickers has embraced the life of a house dog. She loves running free and playing with the other dogs in the home. She is a funny clown always hopping around and looking for light mischief to get into. She has a great personality. She is getting used to humans. She finds them curious and is often caught spying thinking they are unaware of her inspection. When discovered, she will scamper away as if to deny her interest. Her fosters have made great progress getting her to become accustomed to the new dog / people relationship and she has started to let them pet her on her back without running every time or wincing at their light touch. She will be a lap dog in the future, and time for her to develop that trust will come from the special person or people who adopt her and bonds with her. She uses the puppy pad regularly rather than going out doors at this time. She has had experience with outdoors and rather likes it. She is not leash trained at this point. She enjoys crates and xpens but gets offended if the door is closed when she goes in. After a few days she was trusted to run free in the home as she has done no harm to any other dogs or belongings. Although she is interested in slippers and other items and shakes them vigorously, or pulls things out of bags or laundry baskets to see what is at the bottom. She is much enjoyed by her foster family, but her journey may best be continued with her new forever family. This family should have patience with a girl who is still learning all that it takes to be a house dog, They should have other small playful dogs in the home for her to bond with. They should have a good sense of humor in order to fully appreciate her antics. Experience with mill dogs, or willing to do extensive research as needed to get through issues that may come up. No young children. She may be fine with cats but there are none in the foster home. Snickers is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated, heartworm neg and has been given a dental. Her adoption fee is $275
