Meet Bruce, our adorable little Shih Tzu! This handsome guy was found as a stray and taken to the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter. At just about 4 years old and weighing 12 pounds, Bruce had a rough start, battling an upper respiratory infection and dealing with some pesky dry eye that left his eyes caked shut. When we saw him, we couldn't resist bringing him into a loving foster home where he could get the care he desperately needed.

Once we got Bruce cleaned up and on the right medications for his eyes, skin, and URI, he transformed into the happy little pup you see today! Bruce requires a bit of extra attention for his eyes, but he absolutely loves the daily routine of having his eyes cleaned and getting his eye drops. 

Bruce is a well-mannered little buddy whose favorite thing in the world is napping! He loves to curl up in his cozy bed and snooze the day away. When the sun is shining, you'll often find him lounging outside, soaking up the rays. He has a fully fenced yard at his foster home that he enjoys, but he's also leash-trained and loves going for walks, so a fenced yard isn’t a must. He’s an excellent travel companion, always eager to join you on your next adventure!

While he seems to be housetrained, a little adjustment period might be needed when he moves to a new home. He's crate trained, too! Bruce gets along nicely with other dogs, though he prefers calmer companions over rowdy puppies—he’s more into cuddling than playing! He’s even okay with the cats in his home. Bruce would be just fine in an apartment and gets along with gentle kids, but we think he would really thrive in a quieter environment where he can enjoy his naps in peace.

It's important to note that Bruce will need regular grooming throughout his life, especially to keep the hair around his eyes short and clean. The great part is that he enjoys being brushed and pampered, making it a win-win for both of you!

Someone may have let Bruce down in the past, but we are determined to find him a forever home filled with love and kindness.

Bruce is now neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm. He has also been professionally groomed. His adoption fee is $450

We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security.
